the dialect. While "water" is English, "aqua" is Latin.
In addition, the word "aqua" is frequently used in pharmacy to indicate that a recipe calls for clean water. There are various "clean" quality levels:
Tap water that is free of pebbles, fish, and flotsam
Demineralized water, also known as "aqua demineralisata" or "a. demin," is water that has been filtered and treated to remove all minerals (such as salt and tartar) as well as biological detritus (such as worms, algae, bacteria, and virus spores, whether dead or alive).
"Aqua destillata" or "aqua dest" refers to distilled water, which is defined above and is free of organic and inorganic solvents.
Water that has been truly purified (via many distillations) and made so pure that there are no ions at all reduces even its electric conductivity is referred to be "water for injection" or "aqua purificata" or "aqua pur."
Please keep in mind that chemistry does not have a zero concentration. All levels denote "impurities are less than..." and an escalatingly small number."
However, "aqua" generally refers to water in a medicinal recipe.
